Barbara's Story
- Barbara Laws cares for her mother who is in her nineties and suffers from dementia and associated memory loss. She has been caring for her since 2006.
- She lives with her mother but she keeps on her house in Salisbury where she used to live.
- Crossroads provide 7 hours of care a month – delivered n one block enabling Barbara to go to Salisbury for the day to check her house and catch up with friends.
Janet's Story
- Janet Brown cares for her husband who is in his seventies and suffered a multi syndrome atrophy in 1998 shortly after his retirement. She has been caring full time for Terry since 2006.
- They have been together for 54 years and they met when she was 15 and he was 18.
- Crossroads provide 8 hours of of care a month – delivered in three blocks - enabling Janet to attend Parish Council meetings, the W.I. and a Jazz Club evening
Kim's Story
- Kim cares for her two sons Ben and Dean, who both have Autistic Syndrome Disorder and Ben has the added medical complication of severe epilepsy.
- Although Kim’s life is totally dominated by her caring role she was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by Bath Rugby Club in June 2010 in recognition of her work with children with special needs. She runs a Saturday Morning Club that is funded by BBC Children in Need as well as being at Bath Sports Centre and The Radstock Gateway Club.
- Crossroads provide at least 3 hours of care a week, on a Friday afternoon/evening. This allows Kim to spend some individual time with Dean whilst Lucy (their Carer Support Worker) takes over the care of Ben.
